Rafting Expedition in Zanskar river is an adventurers dream as it incorporates off-road driving, outdoors, and Grade 4 rafting in one of the remotest spots of Ladakh. You will without a doubt feel that you are distant from everyone else with nature as you paddle through the relentless Zanskar Canyon, and nod off with the stars. Participant on this visit must be decently fit, and this visit is best taken in July or August when the water level is high.

We can organise all that you will require including all rafting and wellbeing gear, qualified team, cook, assistant, tents, sleeping pads, Kitchen gears all nourishment and required transport.

Day 1:

Arrive Leh

When you land at Leh air terminal, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Leh. Spend the whole day taking rest and acclimating to the high height of Ladakh.

Day 2:

Drive to Thiksey – Hemis – Chemrey - approx. 4 hours

You will be starting early in order to witness the mesmerising morning puja at Thiksey monastery. Famous for its striking resemblance to the ‘Potala Palace’ in Lhasa, Tibet. The Thiksey Gompa is a great place to start your journey of Ladakh and you will surely find your inner peace within the traditional rituals of the local monks and their morning prayer. Next, we head to Hemis Gompa which is the richest and most populous monastery in all of Ladakh -boasting over 1000 active monks in its many branches. Next, we head to Chemrey Gompa where we can explore the monastery and the adjacent village and get some great photos of the monastery which has been built into the mountainside
Day 3:

Leh drive to Sangam - Basgo - Lamayuru to Kargil. Approx 7 hours

Leave Leh and drive toward Leh - Srinagar highway visit Sangam, you can stop to take photos of of the confluence of Zanskar & Indus river. Next, continue driving through the 'lovely as-a-postcard' Basgo town before getting in contact at the charming Lamayuru Gompa which dates back to the eleventh century. Enjoy the view of 'Moonland Hills' (affirmed in light of their enveloping depressions that to the extent anybody knows to share a likeness to those found on the moon) and the Giant Buddha structure at rock mountain before arriving Kargil where you check into your hotel for dinner & overnight-stay.

Day 4:

Kargil to Padum Via Sanko-Panikhar-Parkachik-Rangdum-Penzi La. Approx 8-10 hours

Today after breakfast you drive to Padum passing through Charming Shuru Valley in Kargil cross Penzi La (4,400m). On a clear weather you may be lucky enough to see the glimpse of Nun & Kun peak standing above 7000m. Arrive Padum in the evening and check into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 5:

Padum to Karsha

After breakfast, our guide will brief you on the expedition and discuss on safety procedure and fundamental rules for the accompanying couple of days. Day 6:

Karsha to Honia

Here you will encounter Grade 4 rapids and you can enjoy the sights of a nearby waterfall which streams from the gorge divider. Paddle further - seeing the routinely changing shades of shake on the way, before setting up camp in Lamayuru.

Day 9:

Lamayuru to Nimmu

Today you can take advantage of your last day of Grade 4 rapids before meeting up to the finishing point at Nimmu. On arriving Nimmu, you will be picked up and return to Leh where you can enjoy a hot shower, last day shopping and dinner party before resting for the night.

Day 10:

Departure

Today on time transfer to Leh airport for you flight back to Delhi/ Onward journeys.
